Dutch Bros Catering & Bulk Orders

There is no printed catering menu — there is a 96 oz box called a Traveler and a shop that will take a big order if you give it notice. Here is how to plan one that arrives hot and on time.

Updated

Dutch Bros is built around a drive-thru window, not a catering department, and that shapes every answer on this page. There is no national catering menu, no delivery arm and no event package. What there is: a 96 oz Traveler box that solves most office orders on its own, and a shop crew that will happily batch a larger order if you give them a day's warning.

The Traveler, explained

A Traveler is a 96 oz insulated box of hot coffee, supplied with cups, lids, sweetener and cream. It pours about 10–12 small cups and holds temperature for roughly an hour. At $25–$35 it works out cheaper per head than buying individual smalls, and it removes the problem of taking twelve separate drink orders.

  • Order it hot — the box is designed for brewed coffee, and that is what it does best.
  • Collect close to serving time. An hour is the practical window.
  • Ask what comes with it so you are not buying cups separately.
  • One box per ten people is the planning rule that works.

What you can order in bulk

Hot cocoa Traveler96 oz box · serves 10–12 small cups — Not stocked everywhere — ring ahead. The obvious choice for a group with children.~$28 – $38
Iced tea or lemonade Traveler96 oz box · serves 8–10 cups over ice — Availability varies by shop. Ask for ice on the side so it does not dilute.~$25 – $35

How much to order

Group sizeWhat to order
10 people1 Traveler, or 10 individual drinks
20 people2 Travelers plus a few individual specials
50 people4–5 Travelers — and call at least 48 hours ahead
Mixed groupOne coffee Traveler plus one cocoa or tea Traveler covers most preferences
Morning meetingCoffee-heavy. Order for 60% of the room, not 100%
Afternoon eventShift the ratio to tea, lemonade and cocoa

How to place the order

StepWhy it matters
Call the shop directlyBulk orders are arranged shop by shop, not centrally
Give 24–48 hours noticeA drive-thru cannot absorb a 40-drink order during a rush
Avoid the morning peak for pickupMid-morning or early afternoon collection goes far smoother
Ask what travelsBlended drinks and anything with Soft Top do not hold
Confirm cups and extrasTravelers normally come with cups, lids, sweetener and cream
Scan your Dutch PassA large order earns points like any other — 3 per $1

Find your shop and its hours on the locations page and thehours guide — collecting outside the morning peak is the single biggest thing you can do to make a large order go smoothly.

What survives the journey

7 drinks

DrinkHow well it travels
Hot brewed coffeeTravels best. That is what the Traveler box is designed for.
Hot cocoaHolds well for an hour or so. Good for a mixed-age group.
Iced tea and lemonadeFine if you keep the ice separate and add it on arrival.
Blended Freezes and FrostsDo not order for a group. They separate within minutes.
Rebels over iceDrinkable but diluted. Order individually and hand them out immediately.
Anything with Soft TopIt collapses in transit. Ask for it on the side or skip it.
Espresso drinks in quantityPossible, but they are pulled one at a time — expect a wait.

The rule is simple: poured drinks travel, blended drinks do not. A Freeze ordered for a group twenty minutes away arrives as a cup of sweet liquid. If the group wants blended, order at collection and hand them out at the door.

What it costs per person

  • Traveler: roughly $2.50–$3.00 a cup. The cheapest way to caffeinate a room.
  • Individual smalls: $3.00–$5.00 each, plus the time to take twelve orders.
  • Individual specials: $5.00–$7.50 each once Rebels and Freezes are involved.
  • Muffin tops: ~$2.00 each — the cheapest thing you can add to any of the above.

For twenty people, two Travelers and twenty muffin tops lands around $100. Twenty individual signature drinks lands closer to $130 and takes far longer to hand over. If the group is small enough that individual drinks make sense, the best drinks list and the most ordered drinks are the safest picks for people who do not know the menu.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

Does Dutch Bros do catering?
Not as a formal national programme with a printed catering menu. What it does have is the Traveler — a 96 oz box of coffee that serves 10–12 — and shop-level large orders arranged in advance. For most offices that covers it.
How much is a Dutch Bros Traveler?
Typically $25 to $35 depending on the market and what is in it. That works out at roughly $2.50–$3.00 a cup, which is cheaper per person than ordering individual smalls.
How many people does a Traveler serve?
About 10–12 small cups from 96 oz. If people are pouring their own, plan closer to 10 — cups get filled generously.
Can you order a Traveler of something other than coffee?
Often yes — hot cocoa, iced tea and lemonade Travelers exist at many shops, but availability varies and it is not a guaranteed menu item. Ring the shop rather than assuming.
How far in advance should I order?
24 to 48 hours for anything beyond a couple of Travelers. A drive-thru cannot absorb a 40-drink order in the middle of a morning rush, and giving notice is the difference between a smooth pickup and a very long wait.
Can I order Rebels for a group?
You can order them individually, but there is no bulk Rebel format and they do not hold — the ice dilutes them. If the group wants Rebels, order at pickup time and hand them straight out. The Rebel menu lists every flavour.
Do large orders earn rewards points?
Yes — scan your Dutch Pass and a bulk order earns at the standard 3 points per $1. A few Travelers can put a meaningful dent in the 325-point threshold. See the rewards page.
